Panama City
Beaches
There are not many
Capital cities or major cities in the
world where you have beautiful white
sanded beaches and clear water only
20 or so minutes from. If you follow
the Pacific Coast north up towards Costa
Rica you will find many small pristine
cove areas with clear waters for snorkeling
and fishing and also white sanded pristine
beaches lined with palm trees.
These beaches offer
4 high class resorts, multi million
dollar homes and normally you can find
some of Panama's wealthiest people at
their Ocean homes here. There is a 18
hole championship course, a RV park
and also access to all of these great
beaches within 1 hour of Panama City.

The names of the more
well known beaches and beach communities
are Punta Chame, Gorgona, Coronado,
Rio Mar, Santa Clara
and Playa Blanca.
The 4 resorts in the
area are the Royal
Decemeron and Playa
Blanca which are large all inclusive
resorts in the Farallon and Santa Clara
area. They have up to 600 rooms and
are beach front with restaurants, water
sports, nightlife and all the services
and amenities you would expect of a
beach front 4 star all inclusive. There
is the Coronado
Beach Resort closer to Panama which
is a beach resort offering a 5 start
service, 18 hole golf course and the
only one of its kind in Panama. Finally
is the recently finished Intercontinental
Playa Bonita only 30 minutes from Panama
City. This hotel is Panama's newest
and most upscale hotel offering 5 star
service all around and close to Panama
City.
Punta Chame-Farallon
Punta Chame to Farallon
starts 1 hour from Panama City and extends
fro 30 miles up the Pacific Coast. Located
between Km 78 and 120 (milestones 48
and 75) on the Pan-American Highway
from Panama City. This area is easily
accessed as the pan American highway
follows the coast from Panama City right
up the coast for almost 4 hours to Penonome.
These beaches are highly desirable as
they offer close proximity to Panama
City and also beautiful beaches.
On these beaches you
can sail, surf, fish, dive and swim.
The Beaches of Gorgona, Coronado, San
Carlos, El Palmar, Rio Mar, Corona,
Sea Cliff, Santa Clara, Playa Blanca,
Farallon and Juan Hombron are all very
popular year.
Caribbean Coast
From Panama City the
Caribbean Coast is only 1 hour away
whether you drive to Colon or fly to
Bocas del Toro it is all the same. The
thing that the Caribbean offers that
the Pacific does not is the coral reefs,
more white sanded beaches and the crystal
clear ocean great for fishing, diving,
snorkeling and swimming.
Below are some of the
most popular areas for beaches on the
Caribbean Coast of Panama:
Isla Grande:
Situated directly north of Panama City
just off the coast of Portobelo lies
the Island of Isla Grande. The Island
is very unpopulated with fantastic white
sanded beaches and offers the Bananas
Resort. The Island is great for
kayaking, horseback riding, snorkeling
and diving.

Bocas del
Toro: Easily accessible
from Panama City on a short flight (1
hour). Located on the North East caribbean
Coast of Panama bordering with Costa
Rica. The area has a variety of great
islands and offers white sanded beaches,
marine parks, an abundance of wildlife
and much much much more. The area has
seen great growth in tourism and has
prospered in light of this. Here you
can buy your own island!!

Isla San
Blas: This Caribbean area
is located to the North East of Panama
City and is the area that back bones
down towards Columbia. The area is a
Kuna Indian Reserve that cannot be built
upon and is inhabited only by the Kuna.
There are 100's of Islands in the area
and 98% of them are uninhabited and
offer white sanded islands with palm
trees.
